Here are some pics from yesterday. Our mission to find the pudding house was successful.
The house is actually in Senoia. Got another shot of Senoia from where the gate was in the show.
We tried to find the outside of the tunnel from the last episode but could only find lots of tracks. There was a conspicuous tree laying across the tracks where we thought the tunnel might be so we didn't go any further. The inside of the tunnel scenes were actually shot within the prison!
As we ventured toward Grantville, GA, thanks to Tim's expert navigational skills, we found what we are decently sure is the intersection where Daryl collapsed, that is thanks to the awesome web page walkingdeadlocations.com
Once in Grantville, most famous as the location for the filming of the Clear episode , we found the field where Morgan was burning zombies, the building he was holed up in, the baby stuff store, and the cafe where Carl and Michonne went to retrieve the last surviving picture of the Grimes family.
There is a zombie store downstairs in this building and they give tours of Morgan's apartment upstairs.By the way, the cafe is actually an old train depot. They took away most of the set but the townspeople put up the cafe sign so folks will know what it is.
We're in Tallahassee now but we are going to try to get back to Senoia on the way to the airport on Sunday. Saturday is the grand opening for the museum downstairs from the gift shop, complete with zombies walking around town. The gift shop will have Daryl's motorcycle on display and two of the prison cells will be set up so hopefully we'll at least get to see those.
On Sunday, Grantville will also have an event with vendors and tours. Penny and Judith will be there.
Grantville will also pay host to Bill Paxton and Vince Vaughn as they use some of the shops there to film their new movie, Term Life. They'll use a second hand shop, where I bought a filming location map, and a pizza place that are actually just past the wall above.
Hope you're enjoying the pics as much as I enjoyed taking them! Tim is giving me the pics that he took as well that I can post, guaranteed to be better than mine!
